I am back from Shanghai, one day before the earthquake in Sichuan. Although my uncle said it is unfortunate or we could feel the effect in Shanghai too. Ya, right! Say that again when you are buried under tonnes of rumbles. Sigh, seriously how can he say such things so light heartedly? The Shanghai experience has left me with a lot of thoughts. Not a bad trip but I doubt I will return again unless I see a significant change in the people.

I was fortunate to have a uncle who treat me to a trip to Shanghai for 4 days. After hating China for 10 years since young with a variety of reasons, I decided to approach China with a more neutral view after China built their olympic stadium which is so much more beautiful than the durian shaped esplanade in Singapore. Of course, there are other astonishing architecture in China which arguably wasn't designed by China architects. Then again, most famous high rise architecture are designed by westerners.
