vampire knight can be so slow but it's ok, i prefer slow but quality work then fast but a complete crap.

zero is so sexy............but i don't get why he has to unbutton his shirt. when he ate his brother, he is still wearing his shirt the proper way. i suppose it is fan service.................or the mangaka is trying to show us the power comes from within zero as we could see the vine eating into his body.

another thing is when the vines combine with the bloody rose to form a new weapon, doesn't it remind you of the 1st evolved form of allen's unstable innocence?

zero is such an emo child, like uchiha sasuke.

This week's treats are so shocking that they shoot pass the scale.

first for naruto, sasuke lost!!! i haven't seen him lose for a million years already. other than the itachi's last arc. ok, not yet. i can so see sasuke losing next chapter. he's my favorite character but i can't beat reality and the facts shouting into my face that sasuke will lose to the eight tailed beast. the beginning of the fight has him losing, how much more better will it get?

i just pray that the mangaka won't suddenly switch to naruto's training and leave sasuke on the ground for a week long...........

next is d gray man. this one is the truly shocking one. the twist is so unexpected, not that it is uncommon. hoshino sensei is seriously good at twist.

but why does cross gensui has to die? not that i like him a lot........but he just showed us such a gentle side of him two weeks ago and now he's gone like the stars in a page. he was still "playing" with allen in the earlier pages and he's gone in the last few...........i can imagine allen crying and hiding in the piano room next week with an uproar in the new HQ.

the person who killed cross gensui, is it the authority seeing cross gensui as a threat and decided to have him gone forever? if yes, then most likely allen won't be in a better situation either. neither will BO is likely to be seeing allen as their new weapon. but then again, we must not forget allen is the only who can control arc and they NEED the arc. then they better not let allen find out BO killed cross as they are pushing allen's patience too much.

or is he a traitor of the black order? had the count caught up with allen or cross gensui?

or has allen gone crazy and killed cross gensui instead? did the message from tim some kind of activation code to make 14th take over? or maybe it is cross gensui's dying message to allen as he sees it coming?

by the looks of things, i just feel it is a matter of time allen breaking down and 14th taking over.

the scene before cross marian die is creepy. it is just knocking like something out of a horror movie........

Allen will disappear and 14th will take over. When Mana said to the dead dog, the line 'so you were Allen's friend' has this notion that Allen will disappear one day ringing in the air.  And chpt 167..................................my favorite character in this story is going to 'disappear'.........how cruel.........................

i am so touched by General Cross's body and verbal languages today. Other than the same violent and authoritative him when he is in his master mood, we can sense a fatherly side taking over him. it is not just gulit that allen, a human will disappear but as someone closer.

firstly, he mentioned general Tiedoll of all people. from general tiedoll's interaction with kanda and Marie (is it?), tiedoll sees himself as a father to both his disciples although kanda refuses strongly. he can't laugh at tiedoll for adoring kanda and marie which means somewhere in his heart, he adores allen too, though too violently with a strong disapproval from many.

then he hugs Allen. WOOHOOO!!!!! the General Cross who hates men and only likes beautiful women in his arms is hugging Allen strongly with regret in his words. you could see general cross wish someone else is taking allen's place and he does adore Allen

finally, he letting or wanting tim to eat his cigarette, his live supporting food!!!! a responsible father wouldn't hug his son with a burning cigarette as it will burn Allen.

in other words, these few small actions and words shows that general cross has a humane side. i read a fanfic few months back and general cross in that fanfic cries for allen's death. i was like 'NO WAY', general cross is a cold-blooded creature. but now, i have to agree general cross is human...........

i am so glad hoshino is answering the questions i mentioned previously or more like hints. if mana is with the 14th until his last moment and his transfer to Allen, he will know who is the host. looking at page 9 of chpt 167, don't you just think allen's eyes look dead as Mana carried him away? like a doll? not like a father carrying a son? my guess is this should be the christmas night which allen speaks about mana 'picking' up and adopting him as his 'son' and this should have happened after chpt 166. in other words, 14th is probably still alive in chpt 166. after chpt 166, 14th somehow transferred himself into Allen which can explains why Allen looked like he is in shock, timcanpany's appearance above and 14th's shadow in an adult form.

either way, allen will be sacrificed. if he really disappear, i am deeply saddened by his fate. i have grown pretty attached to this boy. his logics may be a bit too optimistic at times but this is the Allen i adore. he is not a naive boy. he is aware of his surrounding and how people view of him but he doesn't run from them. he faces them truthfully. he holds on to his principles strongly, although rejected by many, he doesn't waiver to pressure. his evil side is just as fascinating, adding to his beauty and even more believable as a boy who had gone through a lot more than others. would hoshino sensei really kill a character he/she drew up in so much details?

most likely yes, when i see allen being branded as destroyer of time and his few narrow escapes from death, his death shouldn't be far.

however, even if 14th took complete control over Allen's powers, I doubt he can finish Earl. Not because of my biasness towards Allen and hope he won't die but from what i see from chpt 167, 14th's source of power is mostly likely anger and hatred towards the Earl. According to the manga senkai standard, anger and hatred is not what brings the story to an ending. it is often the recognition of love or sort.

After waiting another week, a new chapter is out. Friday is the only day I live for. This is the day which the newest chapter of d gray man is out.

Chpt 166 has proven my theory that Allen is a host. Nothing great since everyone can see that he is not the 14th and he has so many powers inside him, doesn't it just tell you directly, 'i am a host'.

The most shocking thing is how different Allen's personality is. He is a complete rugged boy with not the slightest elegant aura we see now. I can imagine him using a pretty rough language for the japanese version. In english, he sounds all the same but i strongly believe a difference in language. He did drop 'keigo' 敬語 once in a while when he speaks with Lenalee and Johnny and strongly emphasized by them in the previous chapter.

next question is 'Why shows us this?' Is Hoshino sensei trying to show us Allen is assimilating with the Black Order? or the other way round that Allen is, in fact, still putting a distance between himself and others instead.

chpt 166 just fills us with more questions than answers.

the beginning of chpt 166 shows a dirty young boy speaking to a clown. we later found out the clown is Mana and the little boy is Allen. ok, not really since we can see the boy's hand is red in the beginning when he rub away Mana's saliva from his face. this is where more questions kicks in.

from their interaction at first, mana says he doesn't know who allen is and he is bad with faces when at the end, he thought to himself 'so you were allen's best friend.' he's lying........who cannot tell but the underlying message is Hoshino trying to tell us Mana is well aware Allen is hosting his brother's soul? or he saw a potential in allen to host his brother's soul?

allen mentioned his parents abandoned him and mana adopted him. one can say mana adopted him after this encounter but the allen we saw in his memory with mana is this really really young boy around 7 years old. however the allen we see now in this chapter is easily 12 or 13 year old and not only is he not close to mana, he doesn't seem to like mana very much either. the allen in allen's memory doesn't has long hair either. so did mana altered allen's memory when he took him away, to protect allen/his brother's host which will explain the change in personality? or it is simply hoshino sensei forgot his/her settings for allen's childhood images. cross said it clearly 14th memories is implanted into allen. since implanting is so easy, altering memories won't be difficult. maybe cross used maria to implant '14th' into allen, maria does has mind control power.

cross made a pact with the 14th to protect mana and in turn, he (14th) will return to mana. so what did cross get? no way cross will do all these things of protecting mana for nothing. what did he get? allen? a fighting machine? allen is pretty much just a fighting machine now. then, how do they know who is the host? how does everyone know allen will be hosting the 14th?

then, as the story proceed, it seems like allen doesn't remember this part. (at first i thought he remember as past fades to present to allen's sad face seems to be hinting something but then again, i doubt anyone can recall so much things in the split second of opening a door) although he seems to remember mana's clown face but mana is a traveling clown so it won't be surprising, allen would have plenty of chances to see that.

overall, poor poor allen, just hate everyone and go on a rampage. no one cares who you are, as long as you are a host for both 14th and the innocence. knowing the truth isn't the best. by chinese saying 傻人有傻福 which in english, it is a blessing of a fool not knowing. by knowing so much now, allen is not just going to question how much he can trust in mana, he is going to question his existence and his relationship with others as well. has 'allen' ever exist? who can i trust in this world? he may end up withdrawing and began to distrust people. if he did, the allen we know will truly disappear.

After reading the review of it on random curiosity, i decided to watch it. this is because my favorite character in it is shot and doesn't look like he has a chance of surviving.

what is the worse thing, everyone is just going 'yoite is crying'  'he doesn't want to die' and blah blah. what about yoichi, people? other than yoite, yoichi is dying too.

but it's ok, i rushed off to the manga store on the same day and bought volume 8, slightly after the whole current arc of the anime.

yoichi is not only alive, he is immortal. and the best is he is not a minor character. i thought he was a minor character since he hardly appear in volume 5. yes, my collection of this title is amazing. i have volume 1, 2, 5 and 8. the gaps can't beat me. i read getbackers backwards and from mid-point, i started from vol 24 and 14 at the same time.

back to nabari no ou, i should have expected more from yoichi. there are a few hints that he is not normal (other than his hair and eye colour), he recovers from shock very quickly, hardly feel pain and difficult to detect his presence. and i was really beaten by his lack of appearance.

Hoshino sensei has heard our cries that Linali goes better with long hair. Linali's hair is slightly shorter than shoulder length only. I wonder how long has passed since the vampire incident. Probably half a year at least and provided Linali's hair grow fast. The new hair style is not bad too, not as good as when she has long hair but it's ok, defnitely better than short hair.

They have new uniform again too but the quality isn't too good, all i see is a mess of black. the lines aren't shown that clearly, i can't see the details but i can be sure it looks very chinese. don't tell me the designer is Komui. if yes, they better be careful, it will be nothing good.
from what i can make out, it is a chinese looking inner shirt with a rain coat type of outer coat (maybe it is a raincoat). of all three sets we seen so far, i like this casual style the best. the first is bulky, the second is like tights and looks suffocating. in terms of gothic-ness, the second is cool.

finally, we are back on track with the original plot but the same waiting and anxiety 'what will cross tell allen?' after the door opens next week. the anxiety is killing me.

that whatever bastard is still a bastard as usual. the way he talk and treat allen is like allen will suddenly slash out at them.
well, allen does has a tendency and possibility to pounce on someone if they hurt people he care. not to forget, the black order is pretty much like a military, i guess it is like this. if anyone deserve to die, you are one.

since it looks like tim does belong to allen then who might allen be? what happened before Mana picked up allen? did allen really forget everything before or refuse to speak about it? (for me, i really did forget about it=P) what kind of parents are they to throw a kid out in winter? it is obviously just leaving him to die, might as well just slaughter him and feed the dogs. end his misery. ok, that wasn't too good a solution either.

Yes, finally this arc of the story ended. i love how it ended. this is how a filter should be like. it should be an explosion of emotion and never to be serious or it won't be fun.

krowy recovered, run back in tears to hug rabi and allen........................towards zombie. lol, what a thing so typical of krowey to do.

then, the ghost is a combination of so many ghosts................................wow. maybe she isn't a combination of all the soul, more like a figurine made of hatred of the deceased.

this time, allen really did changed. finally.................................he needs double dose of it. does he need double dose of the akuma virus to kill him too? maybe it is not that akuma virus can't kill him but he can get rid of it faster than it affect him. so if he is injected twice, he should like flipping belly up like a dead fish too.

Finally, after a 1 week delay, it has arrived for viewing. I can die now.

no, no. i can't die yet, at least show me the ending.................

ok, enough with crap. i wonder why there is a one week delay? for collecting data? if yes, one week seems rather short as a break or to collect data.

allen is bitten again. HAHAHAHA, if he still doesn't transform this time, he's not human.

so the girl is someone who died from all the experiments so komui is let off the hook this time. how boring. however, i don't think he is not involved in the experiments of others which lenalee seen.  i wonder why lenalee never press to know why they are being experimented? is it due to her age? being young just reduce your authority and courage to stop or question what is wrong or correct?

i wonder why the female ghost waited for so long to take revenge when she has been around for a long time? she's like an akuma, need to evolve for more power? or it is an fantastic situation to get back after the count attacked?

seriously, the black order is lousy. it is being crushed by their own doings. first the virus, then the ghost, all the bad consequences of their actions. serve them right.

if you have the ability to see the future or the past

is it a blessing or a curse?

what would you use it on?

what if you can't control it?

Mekakushi no Kuni (目隠しの国) is a work that revolves around the above questions.

Mangaka: Tsukuba Sakura
Volume: 9 Ended
For the unfamiliar, same mangaka as penguin revolution, newest work of Tsukaba sensei. Still don't get it, just read it on onemanga.com

Summary  )

The story of course does not end here with them helping people in every chapter, fall in love blah blah, that's too boring...........We need something more dark and intense.

Another guy with the same ability as Kanade entered the story and this is the start of more humor, angst and relationships to bloom.

With abilities like these which no one else has and understands, what happens? Rejection from parents, alienated stares from others are what the two males protagonists got since young. The story continues to develop the past untouched abandoned kinship, to find a middle ground to live in a world that is so not understanding.

This is a story that i can't stop once i started. I personally want to kill anyone who dares to conclude lightly again that anime or manga are for children. Shut up, it is because those you are exposed to, are really for children. As much as I want to conclude manga and anime are pieces of arts but the world is too big for us to run away from craps works from some producers without the slightest noticeable effort to create a plot framework........................................Memakushi no Kuni is a very well written work that doesn't just end or start relationships like lighting a match stick. It is well-thought out that everyone's abilities are not the same with different conditions. How exhausting their abilities can be in a crowded area. (smart, how beautiful can the world be. even if it is a god-given ability, it has its consequence)

I just love how Tsukaba Sensei drawn the ability of Naitou Arou with him walking in a opposite direction with everyone in a world of blindfolded people. It shows beautifully how unexpected the future is as everyone can't see where they are going as they enter each new second. Then, it is the opposite direction of Naitou with everyone emphasizes how he can see the history of people which we tend to throw our past behind their back while we move forward. It is not he is dwelling on the past, he is moving onward too but different from most people, which technically he is, not many people has his ability after all.

My favorite chapter of the whole story is when the story is taken from the view of the adopted puppy of the third male protagonist or any story revolved around him. He is a anti-hero. I didn't take very well to him at first. I find him an asshole at first. But after he adopted the puppy, his expression soften a lot and he is so sweet. His interaction with the puppy is just so adorable.

This is pic is proof

one death after another. even jiraya is dead. i was thinking he will just be badly injured but death is unexpected. is he really dead? those stupid frogs didn't elaborate on the death and the last we saw is jiraya in the water with his life slipping away but that doesn't tell us he died. people don't die that easily in shounen comic. neither is there a body to confirm his death. is those frogs faking it to protect the weaken jiraya (if there is a million chances he is still alive)? he is very badly beaten and if he is alive, i can imagine him to be in a coma state and protection is the most important thing now.

the frogs are with him in the last fight, isn't it? if he is dead, at least retrieve his body, leaving him in enemy's ground is such a dishonor.

It also confirms that Itachi didn't tell Sasuke the truth. Poor, poor sasuke, you are like rollo now which to madara and itachi, they are going to use you to the fullest and throw you away like a ragged doll. come to think of it, if itachi didn't return, the fire of hatred and determination to kill wouldn't have sparked in sasuke at all, he would be more interested in fighting naruto instead. one would argue that he was well-aware how weak he was and he was under the constraint of the rules and regulation of konoha that he needs the subsequent trainings konoha provide so he was waiting for the ripe moment. however, from the interaction of him with naruto, he is slowly putting down the hatred. it is only the sight of itachi again that pushed him to leave and orochimaru's offer gave him a jumping board to leave everything behind.

this chapter also shows how sasuke is still the sasuke we know. he wants the elders dead but not the others. i was discussing with my friend on how sasuke will destroy konoha and my conclusion is he will target the elders only since he just said destroy konoha, he didn't say destroy completely. not a surprising move since sasuke has always been a child who doesn't target innocent people and even if fight is unavoidable, he doesn't kill them. this can be seen in his command that the other test subjects of orochimaru not to be killed and in his training with orochimaru. this also shows his strength more as it is a more difficult resolve, it is easier to kill than to aim for the non- vital points. (i may be wrong since i am not trained in martial arts) not to forget that his enemies will increase in this way too as just injuring them will build up an unspeakable anger and humiliation, giving them a reason to go after sasuke in the future when they recover.

like how he waited in konoha, sasuke is waiting again to make his move on konoha. one, it doesn't take a genius to realize he can't go against a village with just three comrades unless they are the four gods of the world then there is a possibility. not to forget, sasuke's gang isn't the most cooperating team which the leader can just leave everyone behind and each make their own moves without prior inform. they have different abilities, they may be able to fill in for each other and sasuke did choose his team mates specifically. however, since there hasn't been a fight that involves all of them together so at the moment, too early to conclude. when the actual thing happens, their teamwork may not just crumbles, they will go at each other neck instead. then, there is a possibility they are all trained to fight as solo and sasuke chose them on this basis too. sasuke isn't much help in teamwork when he is team 7.

madara is the mizukage as well?! wow, why does everyone wants to hide behind the disguise of a kage? are all kage interested in sasuke and naruto? both of them don't go looking for trouble, trouble comes looking for them

Title: Pangaea Ezel
Mangaka: Asano Rin

Story: in a setting where religion and a mythical power of a tree; pangaea that rules the world, our young male protagonist with unknown background, has a stick that contains the power of pangaea which he can summons shoots and branches to fight. He is currently traveling the world with a gang of people, 3 out of 4 have parts of pangaea in them. With their complicated background, they are often in fights and dangers.

in the first volume, we get to see the slight glimpse of the power of pangaea, there are others with the power of pangaea and they can resonate, sensing each other and those with the seed have the strongest power.  nothing much is given on the family background of all the leads, what are they traveling for, how they met....................nothing, all we know is they have something in common, they are link to pangaea in some way which pangaea (despite its power) is not a well-known knowledge to the world.

questions:

how did the male lead obtained this power?
why is he so special that pangaea will protect him, regardless of his consciousness and control?
what is pangaea?

Yes, fantastic, finally yugisaki sensei is going to continue with dnangel. i was waiting in pain for vol 12 to be out.

the last volume, 11, was two years ago, leaving satoshi with his hand extended to daisuke for two years.

fortunately, turtle paradise is scanslating this for the benefit for impatient people like me (though i will still buy when the tankoubon is out)
currently, chapter 18 and 19 are scanslated.

after reading the latest two chapters, i am so glad and relieved that the art style and quality is maintained at top notch. generally, when artists return from a break from the work completely or to concentrated on other stuff, yugisaki sensei has managed to give us the same from where she left off, not to mention satoshi is still as gorgeous as ever. as for daisuke, he can disappear, i don't mind but it is impossible if i still want the story to develop smoothly as much as i wish for naruto to disappear too

from where, it is left off from vol. 11, vol 12 continues with daisuke struggling whether to trust satoshi. in the end, with too much consideration, he accepted satoshi's help. they set off to the tower where argentine is, where their friendship flowered, with krad almost killing daisuke................................well, satoshi, again, took over before daisuke is strangled to death. they are still currently, at the middle of the tower, i suppose as it is hard to tell when the inner looks like it reaches beyond the heaven. it is sweet in how satoshi and daisuke save each other ass, sad that they are not exactly friends with satoshi finally deciding to let satoshi know one truth of hikari

though satoshi will never say out loud that daisuke is his friend, but his move to let daisuke know this secret, painful truth shows a much stronger relationship than a mere mutual relationship. he trusts daisuke enough to let him know it (though i think daisuke will be better off now knowing, he thinks too much)

oh my goodness. i wonder how many feel negatively about it as me.

the whole was so well thought, developed and written until the last two chapters. then the arina sensei's illness kicked in again. no people in this world is a bad guy. ok............................

but the ending is obviously just a rush work, just for the purpose to end. how disappointing.

i am so glad that there is onemanga to read manga and i found this a good story.

Takeru - Opera Susanoh Sword of the Devil

saw this in the manga shop but difficult to tell how good the story is so i gave it a pass. onemanga you rule!!!! now i can buy without doubts. when i first saw it, i wonder where are the guys since oguna and takeru looks like girls. i must be blind..........

Storyline: a pretty common story of treasure looking. the male lead follows the legend to the nation of jagara to get a legendary sword. on his journey, he met two other guys that decided to join in. get into more trouble but they are so strong, at the moment, they seems impossible to kill or even scrape them a bit. you have three guys with contradicting personalities. one is carefree and difficult to read, the other simple-minded but reliable and the last very cool (looks exactly like kanda). although so different, or you could say it is because they are so different, they fill in for each other's shortcomings and great team work

the artstyle is to my liking too. the costume design is good too.
